She was the captain of the 2012 "Fierce Five" and 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams that have won individual team competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London she was awarded gold medals in team and floor competitions, along with the bronze medal on the balance beam, which made her the most well-known American gymnast of the Games. She received the gold medal in the team competition at the 2016 Olympics. Gabby Douglas, her teammate, also won gold. Raisman won silver medals for the individual all-around and floor exercise. Raisman won silver medals for the all-around individual, in addition to the floor exercise. She was also a two-time national champion on floor exercise (2012, 2015) and the 2012 champion of the national team on the balance beam, and a five-time medalist in the all-around section at the national championships (silver in 2016, bronze in 2012, 2011, and also in 2015). In 2013 she was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
